€5,000 charitable donation handed over to VKKK

12.03.2018
At the 2017 company Christmas party, a sum of €10,000 was raised with the traditional tombola. As every year, the company doubled the nearly 5,000 Euro given by the staff and the supervisory board spontaneously decided to make it a round sum.

Member of the board Rainer Köhler and works council representative Markus Hummel handed over the cheque to Irmgard Scherübl, second chairperson of the association

The first part of the money was donated recently: representatives of the company board and the works council handed over a 5,000 Euro cheque to the VKKK (an Eastern Bavarian association for supporting children with cancer and handicaps).

We are very happy that the sum contributed by the staff has increased year after year. This year, the works council and board of directors decided to split the money and support two organisations, the VKKK and the Campbridge Mentoring & Leadership Programme.

VKKK’s second chairperson Irmgard Scherübl came to receive the cheque presented by member of the board Rainer Köhler and works council representative Markus Hummel. She was really delighted about the donation and reported in a very sympathetic and caring way about the organisation’s activities. There are two projects, she said, they will render possible and support with the money received from HUBER.

They will purchase a new ‘pearl box’ for a hope & courage project they are practicing. After any medical treatment, examination or operation the little patients receive one pearl of a special colour and shape for their encourager necklace. These necklaces are a comforter and mental support accompanying the children on their way, showing their medical history and how brave and courageous they have been.

The other project that will be supported with the money are the sailing cruises the VKKK organises regularly for recovered young people (16 to 26 year old) to give them the possibility to exchange and overcome the experiences they have gone through in the relaxing atmosphere on a sailing boat. The next cruise as a postdischarge offer will go through the Dutch IJsselmeer and is already much in demand.

With all that impressive information in mind everyone in the audience had a good feeling and was sure the money donated to VKKK is in the best of hands.
